This two-session workshop is designed for complete beginners who want to gain confidence in using a sewing machine and includes a £5 voucher which can be redeemed in Torbay Scrapstore towards the purchase of fabric and notions for your cushion cover. Across two evenings of 1.5 hours each, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of machine sewing, with plenty of time for hands-on practice. You will learn:
- Machine setup
- Choosing the right fabric
- Stitching techniques
- Fabric handling
- Troubleshooting
- Practical project: Apply your new skills to create your very own cushion cover.
You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you’d like to learn on the equipment you’ll use at home. If you don’t have one, we will provide a sewing machine for you to use during the workshop.
